Soccer 2013-10-19I have a 2.5 year old and I wanted my son to learn teamwork, cooperation as well as coordination and athleticism.  My wife and I started to look around Perth to see what such a young child could do.  I have got to be honest, the choices were a little limited.  But then we found it.  Soccer!

Little Kickers

There is a world-wide organisation called Little Kickers.  They take boys and girls from 18 months to 7 years and run a fabulous soccer program.  I played a bit of soccer as a child so I knew that this was a great option for Quinn.  He would learn to coordinate his feet first and then his hands can come in later.  Quinn has been enrolled in Little Kickers Rossmoyne Primary School.

The first kick scooters came from the creative minds of young riders about 100 years ago who desired something different. Taking roller skate wheels and attaching them to a small piece of wood, and then adding a handlebar.

The first kick scooters were crudely made, but most importantly they worked. These early models made with 2×4 handlebars and pipe handles sparked a trend that continues to keep kids moving today.

It’s easy for all of us to become overly engrossed with the routine of daily life and all the stresses that come with it. It isn’t surprising that so many of us end up with some ailment or another that is “stress induced”. How do I cope with this? My answer is simple: I do things which challenge myself. Any type of travel which is action/adventure relate I try to do. I can’t advocate enough the satisfaction which comes with taking part in thrill seeking activities. Although you need to be in good health, you don’t necessarily need to be sporty to take part. Ski diving is a case in point. If you’ve never tried it before and are little curious, here is my experience which hopefully will tempt you!

Others often wonder what could come over someone to decide to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft. Well, I have discovered the answer. It is also the reasons why skydiving is such a passion for those who do it. It is why skydiving makes sense.

The biggest grossing movies (and the ones getting the biggest budgets) aren’t well-acted masterpieces of cinematography based on a symphony of convoluted plot points and 3-dimensional characters; no, it’s the violence filled blockbusters with linear and painfully predictable story and stereotypical characters with atrocious acting. Still, this is what people like to see on the big screen so those are the most successful movies. Why? You’ve guessed it – because we love violence.

Have you been to Green Bay, Wisconsin? It is well worth the trip, especially if you are a football fan and love the stadium culture. Virtually everyone knows the Green Bay Packers reside here. Where is their home field? The illustrious Lambeau Field.

Curly Lambeau Notre DameCurly Lambeau worked for the Indian Packing Company prior to 1919. Curly and a local sports editor came up with the idea for the team, after which Curly’s employer agreed to give $500 for the purchase of uniforms and equipment, to start the football team, as long as they were named the Green Bay Packers. This happened in 1919, and the team has been their ever since.

5. Lou Brock’s Base Stealing Record

Lou BrockDuring the 1974 season, Lou Brock, left fielder for the Cardinals, set a world record by stealing a total of 118 bases. It was on September 10, 1974 that Brock stole three bases in one game to match and then break the previous record of 104 set by Maury Wills. Brock finished this season with 118 stolen bases. This record was not broken until Ricky Henderson beat it in 1982. Brock stole so many bases that he couldn’t count on the element of surprise to protect him — instead he used pure speed to dash from one base to the next.
