The Sports Archives – The Best Football (Soccer) Leagues In Europe!

Europe is blessed to have some of the most high quality and exciting football leagues in the world with players from all over the globe entertaining the millions. But what just are the best leagues for a football fan to watch?

La Liga Logo

The Spanish La Liga is dominated by Barcelona and Real Madrid, two of the most famous and richest football clubs in existence. Their rivalry “El Classico” is probably the most famous in the world and has been raging for decades. These two clubs boast players such as Argentina’s Lionel Messi, the Brazilian Neymar and the two most expensive players in football history, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. However there is great quality football played by other clubs too including Valencia and Sevilla to name just a few.

English Premier League

The English Premier League is the richest in the world and as a result some of the world’s finest football is on offer to watch weekend after weekend. It has Manchester United in it, the world’s most supported club with a large fan base across multiple continents. It also has their arch local rivals Manchester City who after years of being dominated by their neighbours are finally starting to turn the tide. Away from Manchester and in London there are Chelsea and Arsenal. Both clubs boast world-class players and play some of the best football that can ever be seen.

Serie A

Italy’s Serie A is another contender for the best league in Europe, if not the world. It is perhaps best known for the two arch rivals based in Milan and who share the San Siro Stadium, Ac Milan and Inter Milan. They have a rivalry stretching back well into the twentieth century and today the quality of the football and the competition between them is a strong as ever. Another world-famous club to make up Serie A is Juventus who have regularly been strong challengers to the two Milan sides and also produce top quality football each week.

The German Bundesliga is widely known for the long-term dominance of one team, Bayern Munich. They are currently regarded as one of the most feared teams anywhere in Europe or the world and they have shown this not just by dominating their own league in recent years but also making a strong challenge in the UEFA Champions League which they won in 2013 and were losing finalist in 2012. However it is not just Bayern Munich that Germany has to offer. Bayer Leversuken were runners-up to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League in 2013 showing a certain level of German dominance on the European stage.

Football fans in Europe or visiting non-European fans are spoiled for choice when it comes to which league and which team to watch. If anyone is perhaps planning a football tour of Europe to see some or all of these great leagues and their clubs in action then travel insurance is highly recommended so they can enjoy following their passion without added worries.
