NBA referees are now allowed to get lip-happy with their whistles by getting league permission to call more technical fouls for the following conditions:
1. Players making aggressive gestures, (e.g. air punches) anywhere on the court.
2. Demonstrative disagreement, (e.g. player incredulously raises hands or slaps his body to demonstrate how he was fouled.)
3. Player makes a beeline directly to referee to complain about a call/non-call.
4. Too many inquiries regarding a call, even in civilized manner.
Put it this way…NBA referees are going to take less BS this year!
But does this pave the way for more video replay decisions down the road?

Nice Post! It has been an issue, of how sometimes players get in the face of officials and hound them constantly about a wrong call.
Thank you for your comment. We will see if the refs are quick to enforce these new privileges and whether players will hold up from arguing.
I think it’s ridiculous that the NBA is going to clamp down further on technical fouls. I was actually thinking that they should be a little more lenient, at least when it has to do with player emotions. There are so many more things that they could be working on but they decide on something so unimportant. It’s crazy. Also, you think you could check out my blog cuz I really wanna hear what you think. http://chrisross91.wordpress.com/2010/09/25/cmon-man/
